Omicron Tau Theta (OTT)

 
 
 Porreca  and Service Recipients OTT presents four major awards annually.  The Anthony G. Porreca Award is given to an OTT member for distinguished service to Omicron Tau Theta.   The Outstanding Professional Service Award is for service to the profession.   The Research Award is for the outstanding doctoral dissertation and master's thesis written by OTT members.  The last is for the Outstanding Journal Article for the Journal of Vocational and Technical Education.  For the recipients of the awards, click on the buttons to the left.  For more information on the awards, continue reading this page.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION PROGRAM

Anthony G. Porreca Award for Distinguished Service to Omicron Tau Theta

An award for distinguished service to OTT shall be made in the form of a plaque. It shall be named Anthony G. Porreca Award for Distinguished Service to Omicron Tau Theta. Proposed criteria for this award appear in Attachment A. The award may be made at the 1989 and subsequent meetings. It is to be administered by the OTT National Awards Recognition Committee.  This award may be given about every other year and only when there is unanimity of feeling that such recognition is merited.

Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Professional Service Award

An award for distinguished service to the profession by an OTT member shall be made in the form of a plaque. It shall be named Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Professional Service Award. Proposed criteria for this award appear in Attachment B. This award may be made at the 1990 and subsequent meetings. It is to be administered by the OTT National Awards Recognition Committee.

Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Research Award

An award for outstanding doctoral research shall be made in the form of a plague. It shall be named Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Doctoral Research Award. An award for outstanding masters level research shall be made in the form of a certificate. It shall be named Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Masters Research. Proposed criteria for this award appear in Attachment C. Each award is to be administered by the OTT Research Award Committee.

Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Journal Article Award

An award for the outstanding JVTE article of the year (volume) shall be made in the form of a certificate. It shall be named Omicron Tau Theta Outstanding Journal Article Award. Criteria for the award are the same as for acceptance of journal articles (Attachment D). Two awards shall be made at the 1989 meeting--for Volumes 1 and 2. Two awards shall be made at the 1990 meeting--for Volumes 3 and 4. Two awards shall be made at the 1991 meeting--for Volumes 5 and 6. Two awards shall be made at the 1992 meeting--for Volumes 7 and 8. Beginning with the 1993 meeting, the award shall be made for the most recent volume (Volume 9 for 1993). This award is to be administered by the OTT Editorial Board.
